Intent to Enroll: Spring 2021

(Enlace en español a continuación)

Please complete ONE intent form (see link below) per student enrolled at a Georgetown County School District home-based school. ALL students must have an intent form on file to be considered for the spring Virtual or Remote/Hybrid/Prime programs.

Students without an intent form on file will automatically be enrolled into the Remote/Hybrid/Prime instructional model.

Due to the nature of the 4-year-old kindergarten (4K) curriculum and the age of the students, the virtual program WILL NOT be available for 4K students. ALL 4K students will be enrolled in Remote/Hybrid/Prime learning.

PLEASE NOTE: The spring 2021 intent form will open on November 18, 2020 and will close on November 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

From the School Nurse...
COVID Information 9/15/20

Dear Parents,
Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year! We are so happy to have the children back for face-to-face instruction. Please keep the following in mind as you begin to send your children back to school.

If any of the following apply to your child, do not send your child to school and notify the nurse ASAP:
If your child or anyone that lives in the same household as your child tests positive for COVID-19
If your child is exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19
If your child is awaiting test results for COVID-19

We ask that you monitor your child for any symptoms prior to school each morning, and if possible, check their temperature. Please do not send your child to school if they are sick or have the following symptoms:
Any one (1) of the following:
Fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, new or worsening cough
Any two (2) of the following:
Sore throat, muscle or body aches, chills or fatigue, headache, congestion or runny nose, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting

If your child develops any of these symptoms during the school day you will be called immediately to pick up your child. They will be escorted to a waiting room to await your arrival. The child must be picked up in a timely manner. They will require an evaluation by a health care provider to determine the cause of the symptoms and/or the need for a COVID-19 test. In order to return to school, they will need a medical note from their health care provider stating the condition and when they are allowed to return to school --OR-- a negative COVID (PCR) test. This must be in accordance with the DHEC School Exclusion List. If you cannot supply either a medical note or negative COVID PCR test, your child will be required to isolate for 10 days before returning to school.

I recognize that this is a big change and an abundance of information. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns at (843) 558- 9417. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to keep all our students safe and healthy.

Thank You,

Brittany Smith, BSN, RN

Principal's Message

Welcome to Pleasant Hill

I am very pleased to be the principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School, serving the wonderful community that has been my life-long home. My intention is to build upon the tradition of academic excellence that has been established through the years. We have a terrific staff and outstanding community support, especially from parents who want the very best for their children. A mutual trust has been established between the school and community that we will continue to uphold.

As principal, my door is open to students, staff, parents, and community members. I will work diligently to ensure that our students are afforded every educational opportunity in a safe and caring environment. I will strive to make sure that our parents are welcomed into the school, well informed of happenings and events, and encouraged to take an active role in the function of our school.

I look forward to your next visit to Pleasant Hill Elementary.

With kind regards,

W. Teddy Graham

Georgetown County School District will operate on a modified HYBRID schedule for Week 12, which will only be two days, Monday, Nov. 23 and Tuesday, Nov. 24, due to the Thanksgiving holiday break.  Cohort A will attend in-person on Monday, Nov. 23 and Cohort B will attend in-person on Tuesday, Nov. 24.  Deep cleaning of all schools will take place after school that Monday.

In addition, GCSD will offer REMOTE instruction only on Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22 prior to the start of Winter Break.  These dates were originally scheduled to be part of the break, but had to be added back to the academic calendar due to the late start of the school year in September.  Students will follow the same REMOTE Phase schedule that they used for the first two weeks of school.

Georgetown County School District will continue in HYBRID instruction for Week 11 (Nov. 16-20). This week's DHEC report showed Georgetown County's overall rating as MEDIUM after 4 weeks in HIGH status.
